Education is our nation's most important product and has been from the beginning. We are still recovering from a depression and It makes no sense for the cost of higher education to increase. Apparently some colleges aren't smart enough to see that but Maryland's Governor and Democratic leadership is. Count on Maryland to lead the way..

Yvette: I have been writing, almost exclusively, about the failures of Harris, over the past two years, on my blog, DelmarvaProgressive.com. Harris is an embarrassment to the 1st District and Maryland and we must rally around the next Democratic candidate in 2014.

I hope that we can rely on better involvement and assistance from the State Party structure in defeating Harris. It seems that we progressives on the Eastern Shore have been left to our own devices to try to topple a Congressman, who, contrary to the R+17 rating assigned, is very much susceptible to a well-planned and well-funded campaign.

There are many GOP members who are not happy with him and would like him to be replaced with someone more in line with someone who believes in working together to find solutions.

What do we need to do to convince the State Party that we are committed to removing Harris? How can we receive more assistance and not feel like the long-lost relative, which we currently liken ourselves to. We have begun organizing for the 2014 campaign and need to know that you are behind us...in words, deeds and funds!

Any Democratic State leader who backs the extreme tax and spend policies of the O'Malley, Busch, and Miller regime is a loser for the state of Maryland. The current state Democratic regime has an unquenchable desire to raise taxes and fees, never cut any ineffective state program, to redistribute wealth form the rural counties to the urban counties immediately surrounding Baltimore and D.C. , and to gerrymander congressional districts to the extreme. Hopefully she is not cut from the same cloth as the above mentioned but I doubt it. I have become a vote strongly Democrat nationally but lean more Republican locally becasue of the extreme stances of the state Democratic Party.

Why should Andy Harris start caring now ?? Once again, voting no on the fiscal cliff bill, just shows how out of touch he is with all of the Northeast, especially his own district. Could ANYONE in his district say with a straight face that they are not joined at the hip by a federal paycheck...whether its military retirement, federal or state civil service, public service of any kind that is funded all or in part by the federal government....??? Andy Harris was voting to throw all of us over the cliff and under the bus because of principal. Is he not supposed to REPRESENT us...? My livelihood and those of my friends and neighbors should be HIS concern, not his party's crazy tea party agenda. Its time to end this guys tyrannical stent in Congress !!!

Harris is out of his league in public office. He does not have a clue on how the economy works or what fair and balanced policy means or it's importance. We need a politician who can think practically and independently. I would challenge Andy to discuss economic policy but he would just show up and read from tea party memos.

A life-long democrat, I gravitated to Rob Sobhani because of his issues-oriented platform and a commitment to deliver or not to run for a 2nd term. How refreshing is that?

Bonagano on the other hand seems not to know Ben Cardin is the incumbent Senator he has been trying to unseat for the past two years. Instead, his full-time obsession has become Rob Sobhani whom he first called a co-conspirator (with Cardin) spending millions to take down the former S.S. agent who no one seems to know even at election eve. Then came nasty racial attacks against Rob Sobhani and his family, followed by a Donald Trump-like challenge of Sobhani's Kansas birth certificate!

None of that sticking, a shift came to attack Sobhani's Episcopalian faith, followed by a most bizarre claim of egg-tossings at a family van! More Bizarre was Banagoni coming up empty hand in producing mid-night infrared (or was it drone or satellite) photos he claimed showing state-wide "yard-sign theft!"

And now, Biongano's (007) closing campaign push seems to be a whopping breaking news of an answering machine cut-off of a standard robocall disclaimer? Hmm, this guy is just a bit too bizarre and out of his league. Good thing he ain't going nowhere!

I'm a young Democrat and I've never participated in the party, only voted for them. This is the first time I won't be voting for Cardin. Am I the only one with a tiny sense of reason left in him that realizes that the ad was smart and truthful ? There is no innuedo, no manipulation, and no misstatements, those words are straight out of Mfume's mouth about Cardin back in 2006. The fliers aren't misleading, there is clearly at the bottom written "Paid for by Sobhani", and there isn't written Democrat sample ballot at the top. Am I the only intelligent Democrat left in this state ? Has the lack of any real challengers made us dumb ?
I would expect better from the Democrat party...

Well I am sorry I did not read this before I voted however, one thing is true that was not addressed in this letter and that is the whereabouts of Senator Cardin after the primaries. I live in Prince George's County and although we are mostly democratic I didn't hear anything from Senator Cardin in terms of campaigning, which left me to believe what Mr. Siobhani said in the ad is true; Senator Cardin just believes he is going to win. I did not vote for Senator Cardin in the primaries because I believed that there was time for a change and I did not vote for Senator Cardin today either because I do not get the sense that he cares about my vote.
